The hotel has granted a “free” room for Monday and Tuesday for filming any videos of those who would like to record an event or war story they would like to have posted on our CIVO website. This room is to be located along the hallway leading to our Hospitality Room.

HOSPITALITY ROOM
The last few reunions have taken place in southern or warmer climates and most of the time Missouri can have warm weather as well. The Hotel does have places where groups can gather but the hotel will be hosting many Veteran groups at this time. A large Hospitality room has been reserved for us which will serve as a gathering place in case of any inclement weather, or crowded areas within the hotel where smaller groups gather. The cost of this large area is $300.00 + tax a day, which will equal about $1017.00 for the three days. (see the agenda for ways which can be done to recover this cost. If necessary, I will cover the initial up front cost needed to obtain this room).

BRANSON AND ACTIVITIES
If flying, Springfield-Branson Airport is served by many airlines. posted in the CIVO Newsletter. If driving, Branson has many good roads leading to this entertainment city.
Branson is known for its entertainment. All kinds of Music Shows, Museums, Outlet Malls, etc. Look up Explore Branson entertainment and go to the websites to view all of the various shows/activities. On 11/10 the Clay Cooper Theater will have a special Veterans Show. Shepherd Of the Hills and Silver Dollar City is just a short drive. There will be a large Veterans Day Parade on the 11th in downtown Branson. Another thing to visit is the Veterans Memorial Museum which covers WW1, WW2, KOREA, VIETNAM and SUBSEQUENT WARS. If you would like to see some of the shows, it would be best if you can go on their websites for more details. Due to the high volume of Veterans expected during this time, do not delay in making your reservations.

KC Allcock Updates:

Gentlemen and Gentleladies
On the 7th of April, I signed the contract with THOUSAND HILLS RESORT HOTEL in Branson, Missouri.

I made two trips to Branson and looked at several hotels before deciding. This Hotel had all the amenities in one place which seemed to be necessary for our reunion. Some of the other hotels could not grant me the room blocks which I felt we might need, as well others did not have restaurants or bars present in the house, or a large enough place for a "hospitality" room. Thousand Hill has all of these. Frank Dillon was so instrumental in his contacts in finding this Hotel with great reviews and needed amenities.

The Hotel has given us a "Free Room" where a video room can be set up for two days. Those days will be Monday the 10th and Tuesday the 11th.

I know that in the past reunions, which were held in Arizona and Florida, that the hotels had outside areas or some inside areas where there was no cost for a "hospitality" room or gathering place. But, this is Missouri and the weather may be a little chilly to be outside. ...Plus, Branson is very known for its promotion for large groups of Veterans so I wanted to have a room which we could gather in. This room is not free and will cost about $300. a day for three days, resulting in all of us having to cover that $900. + Tax. Don't let that price scare you. I understand there is a "fund" of about $2000. which we can probably use. Also, Jim Walt, the sponsor of the Arizona, and others of the Florida reunions have said they had an "auction" and it was fun and raised money to be used at these reunions. I have not ruled out of having such an activity, although it will be a first experience for me.

There will be a "Free Breakfast" given to all each day (10 thru 12th). The restaurant has service which orders can be taken from your table, as well as an excellent buffet for all meals. There is also another smaller restaurant which serves smaller meals....coffee, teas, soft drinks, etc., Just off the dining area is a bar which serves the "harder" stuff.

Here is the contact for making reservations:
....Thousand Hills Resort Hotel
....120 South Wildwood Dr.
....Branson, Missouri 65616

....417-444-6108
....D/F Troop 4 Cavalry
(Mention this for getting our group rate when calling)

Rooms: I have room blocks for 18 Queen rooms (two beds) and 17 for King rooms. (1 bed).
The hotel will honor the room rate we got for three days prior to the 9th-11th and three days after as well. So if someone would want to check in as early as the 6th and stay all the way through the 14th, that could be possible.

Our group rate will be Rooms/tax included = $132.50 per day
The "Glory Room" for video interviews is FREE. (Mon & Tues- 10 &11th)

Airline Tip: For those flying, the Springfield-Branson National Airport is serviced by Allegiant, American, Delta, and United. A smaller LZ of course, but it will work

The Cutoff Date for reservations by attendees will be, Thursday, OCTOBER 9, 2005.
ANY CANCELLATION within 3 days of arrival will incur a (1) night charge for the cancelled room. HOWEVER any cancellation under the ACT/CAUSE OF AN EMERGENCY, NO COST WILL INCUR FOR THAT 3 DAY PERIOD.

PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL with your name plus any names of those attending with you.

There is more information I will have to work out and give you. But, for now I believe it is enough to get it started.
