HOSPITALITY ROOM
The last few reunions have taken place in southern or warmer climates and most of the time Missouri can have warm weather as well. The Hotel does have places where groups can gather but the hotel will be hosting many Veteran groups at this time. A large Hospitality room has been reserved for us which will serve as a gathering place in case of any inclement weather, or crowded areas within the hotel where smaller groups gather. The cost of this large area is $300.00 + tax a day, which will equal about $1017.00 for the three days. (see the agenda for ways which can be done to recover this cost. If necessary, I will cover the initial up front cost needed to obtain this room).

BRANSON AND ACTIVITIES
If flying, Springfield-Branson Airport is served by many airlines. posted in the CIVO Newsletter. If driving, Branson has many good roads leading to this entertainment city.
Branson is known for its entertainment. All kinds of Music Shows, Museums, Outlet Malls, etc. Look up Explore Branson entertainment and go to the websites to view all of the various shows/activities. On 11/10 the Clay Cooper Theater will have a special Veterans Show. Shepherd Of the Hills and Silver Dollar City is just a short drive. There will be a large Veterans Day Parade on the 11th in downtown Branson. Another thing to visit is the Veterans Memorial Museum which covers WW1, WW2, KOREA, VIETNAM and SUBSEQUENT WARS. If you would like to see some of the shows, it would be best if you can go on their websites for more details. Due to the high volume of Veterans expected during this time, do not delay in making your reservations.

KC Allcock Update:

Hello D/F Troopers and Special Guests,

Hotel Registrations - The end of our registrations is drawing to a close in just a few days. The cutoff date is October 9 with the Thousand Hills Resort Hotel. The Spreadsheet that I have received from the Hotel has told me that we have booked 34 of the 35 rooms set aside for our reunion. In case you have not registered with the hotel, call them at 417 444 6108 (Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm) So far in my count, we will have 60 folk, counting Troopers, Special Guests, and Spouses.

Banquet Dinner - I have received my Banquet Registration forms from all that are coming. The evening of the 11th of November, our Hospitality Room will be converted to a nice dining room, and the Hotel Staff will bring up the prepared plated dinner foods. More than likely, we will need to vacate the Hospitality Room for a couple of hours while these preparations are made by the Hotel Staff. (I will guess that the time for vacating will be from 4:00 pm until 5:30). At 5:30 we then can come to the Hospitality Room for our Plated Dinners. I will collect the cost of the dinner when you pick up your "welcome packets" in the Hospitality room after checking in at the hotel. (Only check or cash, no credit card.) .

Memorial Service - Before we enjoy our meal, a short memorial service will take place. We all can reflect on so many of our fellow troopers who "gave their all" in Vietnam, plus remember those of our ranks who have passed and/or cannot come to any reunions as they once did.

Auction & Raffle - Hey, don't forget to bring along something that can be used at the Auction, or given away in a Raffle.

Illness - Some of you already know this, but last month in August I was diagnosed with Cancer. I have been through many tests already and have more tests to go through. It looks like there will be surgery very soon to remove a mass from my left breast area, and then chemo to follow. The Surgeon said if it is only the mass they remove, I will be somewhat healed and probably be able to attend the reunion. But, if it is the mass removal, plus lymph nodes under my left arm, it might be another story. But be assured, I am going to be at the Reunion!! If I cannot come, I have many in mind who can carry out the needs for the reunion.

If you are not on the list, PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL with your name plus any names of those attending with you.

The Branson Area

Some of us plan to come as early as 7 November

to enjoy this incredible place. powellcentaur@gmail.com

Branson, Missouri in November 2025 will likely be a festive experience, as the city fully embraces the holiday spirit. The "Ozark Mountain Christmas" season officially begins in November and continues through January 7, meaning there will be plenty of holiday-themed shows, decorations, and events. Additionally, November falls outside of the peak summer season, which means potentially fewer crowds and lower accommodation prices compared to June-August

November can be a good time to visit Branson, Missouri, especially if you enjoy holiday festivities and cooler weather. While the weather is chilly with average highs around 59°F (15°C) and lows of 37°F (3°C), the town transforms into a festive winter wonderland with holiday lights, shows, and events. Celebrations run from November 1 through January 7,
