Info/Obituary of SP4 Harold E. Weaver

Harold Edward Weaver, 70, of Wichita Falls passed away Monday, January 12, 2015. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 16, 2015 at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Reverend John Gardner officiating. Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Park with military honors rendered by the U. S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation was from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Weaver was born February 6, 1944 in Newport, Arkansas and moved to Wichita Falls as a young man attending school here. At the age of eighteen, he joined the U. S. Army in 1962 and served three tours of duty in Viet Nam and received the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.

He later worked as a Deputy for the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office for six years. Mr. Weaver then was employed at Certainteed until his retirement in 1995. He was a 32nd degree mason and was a member of Faith Lodge #1158. Harold’s hobbies were firearms and motorcycles and he especially enjoyed spending time with family.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Lucille Hufstedler; his wife, Sharron and a brother, Johnny Weaver.

Survivors are children; David Weaver, Vicki Weaver and Shawn Weaver and wife Kera, all of Wichita Falls; also, Katie Weaver of Wichita Falls, Walter Douglas of Salem, MO and Jennifer Weaver of Wichita Falls; sister, Martha Scott of Wichita Falls; brothers, Donald Weaver, Jerry Weaver, Dennis Weaver, all of Wichita Falls, and Gary ‘Butch’ Weaver of Arlington, TX; seven grandchildren Ashley Weaver, Krista Weaver, Justin Krajca, Victoria Douglas, Jaiden Douglas, Aiden Weaver and Cameron Weaver; great grandson, Zachary Exley.
