Obituary:
Danny Douglas Rabon, 70, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on November 24, 2021 after a long battle with lung cancer. A funeral service with military honors was held at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Richardson Funeral Home. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Rabon was born in Conway on June 27, 1951, a son of the late Henry Rabon and Mattie Lawrimore Rabon. He is also preceded in death by brothers, John Richard Rabon and Rae Rabon and sister, Sarah Janice Rabon.
Mr. Rabon was a graduate of Conway High School and joined the United States Army, proudly serving his country in Vietnam. Upon returning home he attended Horry Georgetown Tech. He was then employed by Santee Cooper until his retirement. After retirement he became employed with Lee Electrical Service for many years. Mr. Rabon loved fishing and hunting, but the greatest joy in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Scarlett Snipes Rabon of the home; daughter, April Rabon Smith (Jarrott) of Darlington; son, Chad Rabon (Cristy) of Florence; four grandchildren: JJ and Nate Smith, Allyson and Allen Rabon; three sisters, Betty Rabon Eason of Murrells Inlet, Sandra Rabon Ammons of Myrtle Beach, and Sherrill Rabon Loring of Decatuer, GA; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
The family would like to thank McLeod Hospice and particularly their nurse, Courtney.
