Obituary:
William Nelson Moye, Jr. “Bill”, 74, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. “You will always be in our hearts, we will see you on the other side.”
Mr. Moye was born in 1943 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Minnie and William Moye, Sr. He graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. Mr. Moye was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam era as a helicopter pilot and achieving the rank of First Lieutenant; he also served in the United States Army Reserves achieving the rank of Captain. Mr. Moye was owner/operator of Advanced Municipal Supplies. He was a past member of Winchester Rotary, a member of VHPA (Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association) , NRA (National Rifle Association), HOG (Harley Owners Group), and Sigma Chi fraternity. Mr. Moye was a civilian pilot and an avid motorcyclist, who had a Harley and various other bikes over the years. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing. Mr. Moye was of the Methodist faith; he also attended The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
Bill married his first wife and friend, Carolyn Moye, June 6, 1966 in Arlington, Virginia.
He married his second loving wife, Nina Petrovna on January 7, 2009 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Genine Moye Jones (husband Robert) of Wilson, North Carolina and Jennifer Moye of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Charles Scott Jones of Lawrence, Kansas, Carlyn Renae Jones of Princeton, North Carolina, Elizabeth Marie and Corey Michael Gloyd both of Winchester, Virginia; step-daughters, Svetlana Burkhardt (husband Kurt) of Gainesville, Virginia and Elena Kucherenko (husband Valera) of Odessa, Ukraine; step-grandchildren, Anastasiya Igorvina Burkhardt of Gainesville, Virginia and Alosha Kucherenko of Odessa, Ukraine; and sister, Margaret Ann MacDonald (husband Sankey) of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
Also survived by many treasured and longtime friends, including First wife Carolyn Moye, fraternity brother, William “Bill” Hogan and his wife, Janis of Knoxville, Tennessee and longtime friend, Daniel Pourkesali of Gainesville, Virginia, and Laszlo and Kristina Nemeth of Winchester,VA, all were by his side throughout his final battle with cancer.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his faithful canine companion, Charlie.
