EARL W. GOODALL, 61 of CAPRON, Illinois, died peacefully Saturday evening, Nov. 10, 2007, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Earl was born June 14, 1946, in Belvidere, the son of Robert V. and Eva (Ricedorf) Goodall. He married Nancy J. Pitman in Belvidere on Nov. 19, 1966.

Earl served our country in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1968 in Vietnam. Over the years, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Rockford Blacktop. In his spare time, he enjoyed hobby farming and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Earl was a lifetime member of the VFW and was a faithful and devoted member of Blaine United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Capron; children, Stephen (Laura) Goodall and Christopher (Rhonda) Goodall, both of Machesney Park; mother, Eva Goodall of Capron; grandchildren, Chandra Smith-Goodall, Bryce Goodall, Lexi Goodall and Mercedes "Sadie" Goodall; great-grandson, Ayden Goodwin; siblings, George (Carolyn) Goodall of Belvidere, Dorothy (Gordon) Downs of Poplar Grove, Joyce Morrall of Jeff, Gloria (Lanny) Moran of Capron, Karen Goodall of Capron, Larry (Connie) Goodall of Belvidere, Gary Goodall of Belvidere and Vickie (Leon) Gilmour of Clinton, Wis.; brother-in-law, John Roberts of Rockford; and numerous nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Earl is predeceased by his father, Robert; and sister, Barbara Roberts.

Funeral was held Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, with the Rev. Lisa Kruse-Safford, pastor of Blaine United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial, with military rites, was at Highland Garden of Memories.

Goodall entered service May 5 1967 and completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He also completed a course in aircraft Mechanics and graduated from Aircraft Mechanic School on Nov 14, 1967. He went to Vietnam Dec 17, 1967.

Goodall was wounded and hospitalized in Saigon.

His wife, Nancy, lives at 1146 W. Locust St.
