Norm Evenstad (brother): He was given leave for a period of time when my other brother was in hospital and in critical condition. He unfortunately did not make it home to North Dakota as he was involved in a boat accident while waiting for a military transport in Texas.

Circumstances:
He was in the U.S. Army and recently returned from a tour of Vietnam. He and others were in a canoe in Burnett, Texas and it capsized, and Carrol could not swim.
He is buried in Northwood Cemetery - Northwood, ND.
