Obituary
John Jesse Barry, 75, passed away July 12, 2015. He was born July 1, 1940, in Boston, MA, the son of Francis G. and Gladys E. (Leibig) Barry.
John is survived by his wife Marie (Mikos) Barry; his son, John Barry, Jr; two daughters, Diane Arias and Julie Sorg; four brothers; five sisters; three granddaughters; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and his beloved dog, Moxie.
A graveside funeral service with military honors was conducted at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Augusta with Fr. Paul Marquis officiating. (Lary Funeral Home, Milo and Bangor Daily News 7/16/2015)
Major Barry had served over 34 years with the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard, as a helicopter pilot and a search and rescue helicopter pilot. CLASS 70-2/69-48
Don Borey: John was a Cobra Pilot and Cobra Platoon Leader after Skip Petrie left. He was my rater on my last Vietnam OER when I left at the end of January '72. He also was my Cobra front seat on a couple of missions after he first arrived in the troop. Prior to F Troop he was in a 3/17 unit.
