My first tour in Nam was in 1968 and 1969 with the 101st Airborne Division. I was an Artillery Officer and decided then, if I came back to Nam, it would be as a pilot.
I was in F Trp from about Jan 72 thru October 72. My position was Property Book Officer trying to keep track of all equipment from tool sets to Cobras. We were at DaNang with the maintenance folks.
I married my wife Sue 52 years ago when I was on leave from F Trp in March 1972.
I stayed in the Army through 1976, got out for 2 years and was with the Indiana National Guard. I got a full time active duty position with them and retired as a Brigade Commander of the 38th Aviation Brigade in 1991.
