Warren had lived in Pineville, MO for three years coming from Rogers, AR. He was born on April 11, 1950 at Corpus Christi, TX to the late Edward Clinton and Melba Nadine (Pierce) Nycum. He graduated from King High School and Del Mar Jr. College in Corpus Christi, TX. He received a Degree in Instrumentation from ITI Technical College in Baton Rouge, LA, he graduated from the U.S. Army Nerve Gas School (cum laude) at Ft. McClellan in Anniston, AL.

Warren was a U.S. Army Green Beret Veteran serving in Bayroid Germany, US Missile Nike Hercules Batt. In 1967; F Co. 75th Inf Ranger LRRP 25th, Inf Cu Chi Vietnam in 1968; attached to River Rat Naval Patrol PBR Force; B36 3rd Mobile Strike Force 5th Special Forces Vietnam, Cambodia in 1968-1969; D Troop ¾ Cav, Hunter Killer Team OH6A Cu Chi Vietnam; attained rank of Sgt E-5. Warren was the recipient of numerous medals to include the Purple Heart, 1 Silver Star, 2 Bronze Stars and a special medal only 342 service men were awarded from the Vietnamese Government for protecting civilians.

He was an Operations Tech for OxyChem for 16 years in Corpus Christi, TX; Industrial HASMAT Firefighter for 12 years on the Emergency Response Team; HR Technical Specialist; consultant at ITI Technical College for four years. He was a member of the VFW Post #9063 in Bella Vista, AR; involved in the Literacy Program; a member of the New Life Fellowship of Anderson, MO where he helped provide many meals at the church; as the son of a Baptist Preacher, he was also an amateur gourmet cook and loved to sample from his large collection of unusual cookbooks he collected over the years, he loved to try new ingredients always with great success. Carolyn and Warren loved to dance and won numerous awards at dance contests. His presence filled a room when he entered it; he enriched many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He cherished everyday and made life a joy for his family.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother and sister, Daryl Gordon Nycum and Sharon Gale Nycum.
