Leslie Scott: 1Aug2018: I think Loren was one of the wounded in an aircraft incident mentioned in the CIVO newsletter of 28 July...he had switched from Cobras to loaches by then and was moving through an area already searched by the "blues" when the VC opened up on them...first rounds cut Loren's comm cord and hit several of the smoke grenades strung across the forward portion of the cockpit....no radio call but a loach on the ground and smoke everywhere......
Jim Hoag: 18Aug2015: I didn't realize Loren McCoy was deceased. I served with him at Ft Carson, CO 1987-1989. He was a CW4 there and a test pilot in my AVIM unit. We used to chit-chat a lot about places we'd been and Vietnam.
