PFC David E. Dingess, 20, son of Mr and Mrs Earl Dingess of Chapmanville, received the Army Commendation Medal near Cu Chi, Vietnam. Dingess received the award for heroism in action
while engaged in military operations against a hostile force in Vietnam.
The private is a rifleman with Troop D, 3rd Squadron of the 25th Infantry Division's 4th Cavalry.
He entered the Army May 1969, received basic training at Ft. Knox, KY,
and was stationed at Ft. Polk, LA, before arriving in Vietnam in October 1969. - His wife, Etta, Lives on Star Route Chapmanville
