SP5 Don Vaughan was the AH-1G Cobra Crew Chief of "Kansas Killer" (#68-15135) in 1970.
Gary Schmidt: Don Vaughan did 3 tours with the Centaurs plus before that he was a grunt with the 1/27th Wolfhounds. After 3 close calls he re-enlisted to be a Cobra crew chief. In one of his close calls he pulled his wounded Sgt. out of enemy fire and another a RPG landed next to him without exploding. Don't remember the other one. He was a little guy and also was a tunnel rat.
