I served in the Army until retirement December, 1989. Last rank CW4, Regular Army.
I served in Vietnam and Korea, flew the borders of West Germany and South Korea. Spent a number of years at Fort Rucker assigned to the US Army Aviation Board conducting and supporting operational tests of new aviation equipment and working on the new simulator for the AH-64.
I was a IP, SIP, IFE for AH-1G, Mod, thanks ECAS, Prod, & FMC, UH-1 D, H, M, and OH-58A & C. Plus qualified in UH-60 and T-42.
After retirement I worked for a small flight school as Chief Pilot and Chief Flight Instructor and Designated Pilot Examiner for the FAA for Private, Commercial, and Flight Instructor-renewal.
Then moving over to Omniflight Helicopters, as a line pilot in BL-117A, B1 & B2. Later as check airman, then Director of Safety.
Then on to AIG Aviation as a safety consultant. This I did for 13 years and was promoted to Vice President, Safety and Loss Control. I retired from AIG. It went back to work for a competing insurance company for another 30 months. After which I continued to work as an independent consultant for 3 more years. Finally I retired.
