Jim flew for 30 years after NAM. Will search for a Nam photo. His close friend was Davy Crockett.
In 2005 Jim did an audio interview of his military life for Library of Congress.

James E. McPeak Completes Course
Ft Wolters, TX - Army Warrant Officer Candidate James E. McPeak, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McPeak of Union, has completed a 20-week Helicopter Pilot course at the U. S. Army Primary Helicopter School ant Ft. Wolters, TX.
During the course, he was trained to fly army helicopters and learned to ue them in tactical maneuvers.
He next will undergo advanced flight training at the U. S. Army Aviation School, Ft. Rucker, AL. Upon completion of advanced training he may be appointed a warrant officer.
WOC McPeak entered the Army in July 1970 and completed basic training a Ft. Polk, LA.
The 20-year old soldier is a 1967 graduate of Union High School and attended West Virginia University at Morgantown.
