David Whitley: Hagen was a SP4 and his nickname was "Festus", like the Gunsmoke character "Festus Hagen".
In the picture from the TLN, Festus was carrying my M60, (we rotated squads every mission & I don't remember why his 60 wasn't available) which had jammed, and he's fiddling with it. He said politely that he wouldn't ask to use my 60 in the future.
When they returned that afternoon, I jokingly told him it must be him since that was two 60's that he screwed up :)
