CW2 Thomas Broadbent, LOH Pilot 1971.
I was Centaur18 from May-June 71 to Jan.30, 1972 when I was shot-up/shot down in the Cui Chi area. I was shot in the leg and shoulder and they took out the transmission cooler. (Talk about the panel lighting up!). CPT Lowell Kennedy was in the left seat (his first mission). Do not remember crew chief, other than he looked like John Wayne setting up a perimeter with a 60. Bob Jones knows the details. He was flying Cobra that day.
On another note, I was in Flight School with Harlan Sparrow and went to the Cayman Islands with him before Vietnam. My step-mother lived there. “Birdman” Sparrow was a Scout for about two months before transferring to Slicks. Used to be only the dumb asses were scouts, now everyone wants to be one! Bye the way, John Wysong was a Scout. He broke his leg in a crash and was sent home.
