Memorial Page - Comments: Dwight Birdwell

R. Frank Cuff, 77, of Fayette, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 3, 2023. He was born in Morenci, Michigan on June 6, 1946, to Darling “Marvel” Russell. On October 24, 1997, he married Betsy Hartman in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Frank proudly served his country in the US Army ¾ Calvary 25th Infantry Division, C Troop, during the Vietnam War. Over the years, he remained in constant contact with his Division and military friends. Frank was very active in the VFW and American Legion posts, both locally and at the State level. He enjoyed going to auctions and car shows. Frank loved spending time with his family.

Frank is survived by his wife, Betsy; children, Jennifer (Brent) Bassett, Traci (Jim) Miller, Mark (Madeline) Cuff, and Heather (Craig) Weber; 7 grandchildren; and brother, Mike (Amy) Cuff. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley; and stepfather, Wayne Fackler.

Military honors will be performed by the Fulton County Honor Guard. Interment will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Humane Society, the Fulton County Humane Society, or an animal rescue charity of your choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at rodenbergergray.com.

Dwight W. Birdwell: My friend, and yours, is now at peace. I am engulfed with sorrow and sadness because he has crossed-over, but so proud and honored to have known Frank. From the intense times of terror in Viet Nam we all shared to years of friendship after the God of Abraham allowed many of us to return home, Frank was always there to encourage and support his friends anyway he could. A man of few words, those he spoke mattered.

Frank Cuff is now with fellow warriors General Glenn K. Otis, Steve Porter, Dean Foss, Lucio Herrera, Oliver "Doc" Jones, Cowboy Boehm, Bobbie Pedigo, Dave Garrod, Harold Donnelly, Mike Callahan, Joe Sloan, Dave Harvey, Denver Moore, James Dean, John Rourke, Russ "Doc" Gearhart, Richard Johns, Gary Brewer, Fernando Herrera, Karen Freeland and others I have omitted by accident, plus the seventy plus Troopers who perished while serving with us in Viet Nam-all of whom are precious in my heart and memories.

Good-by, Frank-you and your friendship made a positive impact on my life.
