Lawrence H. Johnson III passed away on February 26, 2021. He was born in Eufaula, Alabama on September 4, 1947 to Lawrence H. Johnson Jr. and Annie Muriel (Powell). He was known as “Hank” to his family and many friends. He was a proud graduate of the 1970 class at the University of Alabama. After graduation he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army flying helicopters. After leaving the Army in 1976, he continued flying helicopters with the Maryland National Guard. He went on to become an Employee Relations Counselor with the Marriott Corporation in Washington, D.C. In the early 1990’s he started his own company as an independent contractor providing Retirement Seminars to many federal government agencies including the FBI, Secret Service, Federal Judges, Defense Agencies, and many others. He was very proud of the book he wrote “Winged Sabers” to honor his father and others who served in the Air Cavalry Troops in Vietnam. Hank is survived by his wife June.
