Daniel C. Roberson, 62, of Crowley passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, after a long battle with diabetes and injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday in Crosier-Pearson-Cleburne Chapel. Burial: Buried next to his wife in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
Daniel was a retired veteran, having served 14 years in the Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He served as a helicopter crew chief and mechanic. He was an avid ham radio operator.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vista K. Roberson. They lived in Richmond, Va., until she passed away in 2001 after a brief battle with cancer and he then returned to Texas.
Survivors: His daughter, Nancy Roberson Johnson and her husband, Robert; sister, Andaleen Canen and her husband, Paul, of Burleson; brothers, Marlin "Red" Roberson and Ancil Roberson and wife, Ouida, of Crowley; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
